Senior Buyer

For one of our customers we are now looking for a Senior Buyer

Job responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate the activities of the procurement package team, ensuring adherence to project goals, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Oversee the deliverables of assigned Procurement Packages, ensuring timely completion and quality.
  • Develop and maintain procurement strategies, plans, and budgets.
  • Conduct supplier pre-qualification, prepare inquiries, evaluate tenders, negotiate contracts, issue purchase orders, and monitor equipment and documentation deliveries.
  • Handle changes, warranties, invoice verification, and project closure efficiently.
  • Foster open communication and collaboration with engineering and integration teams.
  • Acquire a comprehensive understanding of the contract terms and detailed knowledge of technical and commercial scopes for assigned Procurement Packages.
  • Provide regular project reports to the Procurement Manager, detailing progress, status, schedule, costs, and identified risks and opportunities.

Your experience and qualifications:

  • Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience as a buyer.
  • Good understanding of contract management and project coordination.
  • Fluent in both written and spoken Norwegian and English.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, MIPS, and Time management software.
  • Strong negotiation skills, combining business knowledge with technical insight.
  • Methodical problem-solving abilities.
  • High integrity, ethical values, and proactive work approach.
  • Excellent team player, promoting effective collaboration.

To be accepted as a candidate you must be located within EU – preferable in Norway. Important with valid work permit for Norway if not located in Norway.
