Contract Specialist

For one of our customer we are now looking for a Contract Specialist.

Job responsibilities:

• Support and ensure alignment with Company strategic objectives

• Work with other disciplines and business units to meet customer requirements

• Support key internal stakeholders across the business to ensure operational success

• Identify opportunities for operational excellence and cost saving

• SCM tasks as required

• Support in implementing Global Standard, Procedures, Guidelines And Templates

• Work with technical disciplines to ensure correct technical specifications exist for purchase agreements and subcontracts

• Perform package criticality assessments together with technical disciplines

• Ensure use of procurement planning in order to establish priorities

• Perform market screening to establish bidder’s long list

• Actively work to avoid single source and bid waiver situations where possible

• Perform pre-qualification of potential suppliers and subcontractors

• Select appropriate contract form and compensation models for the scope of work to be contracted

• Ensure a thorough and complete scope of work definition and technical specification for all contract and purchasing enquiries

• Ensure that Company Business ethics are adhered to

• Ensure that bidding processes are controlled and adhered to

• Manage all correspondence between bidders and Company in bid situations

• Ensure Bid evaluations are carried out fairly and without bias towards any one bidder

• Ensure bid evaluation criteria are relevant and correctly weighted

• Ensure Supplier or Contractor selection is based on best price with acceptable risks and acceptable technical solution

• Chair any Bid Clarification Meetings, ensure minutes are comprehensive and actions have responsibility and deadlines

• Negotiate the best total cost situation for Company

• Include the appropriate penalties and guarantees in contracts or purchase agreements ensuring the contractor or supplier delivers the scope of work without undue delay

• Request and coordinate legal assistance where required

• Perform Due Diligence on potential supplier or contractor prior to award if required

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

• Strong educational background with minimum a Bachelor’s Degree Bachelor’s MSc/Bsc Degree in relevant discipline area or documented extensive experience in the field

• 10+ years working in offshore oil & gas industry with SCM

• Understanding of operating in international business environment

• Supplier market knowledge

• Knowledge of the offshore drilling / oil industry or Wind Energy Industry

• Strong Negotiation skills

• Strong communication skills

• Ability to work systematically

• Strong customer service orientation

• Able to manage multiple interfaces with and meet internal customer needs

• Ability to identify processes needing improvement, and to recommend improvements

• Good knowledge of IT tools and systems within area of responsibility

• Good knowledge of English, both written and oral, including excellent presentation skills

• Good stakeholder management skills

• Detailed knowledge of standard forms of contract

• Detailed knowledge of contract terms and conditions

• Detailed knowledge of contract compensation formats

• Detailed Knowledge of forms of Guarantees and liquidated damages

• Ability to handle and apply quantitative methods, financial analysis, simulations, correlations

• Technical understanding of Wind Energy equipment

• Strong Supplier Relationship Management skills

• Knowledge of Supplier Prequalification processes

• Knowledge of Risk Analysis and Management processes

Job Specifications:

The application deadline for this position is ASAP, but we will also consider candidates for similar or other relevant positions consecutively.

Workplace: Bergen or Stavanger

Start: January 2022

Duration: 6 months, extension possible
