System and data specialist

The Systems and Data Specialist is part of the operational procurement development project in the North Sea Procurement and Supply Chain Management (PSCM) organisation.

The main purpose of this role is to have the main responsibility in the project for master data processes (vendor and material master) and IT-tools used in various parts of the project.

The role requires active involvement project members and regional and global systems teams to ensure project activities have the necessary systems support, and that master data cleaning activities are coordinated with related project activities. The role requires competence in database and master data management, preferably within a workmate/SAP environment.

The role focuses on relevant Operational Management System (OMS) standards and shall further contribute to the Company's priorities of strengthening safety (Safety & Operational Risk – S&OR), rebuilding trust and adding value to the business segment.

Responsibilities:

  • Master data management
  • Communicate frequently with global MDM teams to ensure coordinated efforts in improving MDM processes and database clean up.
  • Act as main contact between MDM teams and operational procurement project.
  • Establish and maintain high quality, up to date, plans and communication materials to coordinate MDM and other project activities.
  • Work with the project team to design new MDM processes for creation and maintenance of material and vendor master records, in alignment with global common processes.
  • Systems and tools support
  • Establish and maintain database and necessary reporting tools during the inventory clean-up project. Assist teams in data loading, and material list QA.

General project activities:

  • Participate in project activities as required, main responsibilities for data analysis and reporting.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve project goals.
  • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardisation exists.
  • Be proactive in creating long term sustainable solutions.
  • Actively seek out to improve systems and tools understanding and competence in the organization
  • Demonstrates continuous efforts to improve PSCM operations requirements, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work co-operatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years experience from PSCM related system roles
  • Minimum BSc level education within business, IT or PSCM
  • Excellent skills in ERP systems (SAP, workmate), databases, reporting tools and excel
  • Experience in master data management and data quality management
  • Experience from business process design

Personal Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral in English and Norwegian
  • Being able to communicate across all levels and disciplines
  • Display high level of accuracy and thoroughness
  • Being able to manage high workload in a demanding environment

Specific activities:

  • Establish good understanding of the master data management (MDM) global processes and departments
  • Participate in designing new MDM processes for the Norwegian business, aligned with UK and Global requirements
  • Drive and provide coordination and QA in data clean-up and loading activities throughout the project.
  • Understand improvement requirements in the Norwegian operational procurement project'
  • Assist in design and creation of various reports during the project
  • Develop and maintain database to coordinate and track progress in inventory audit and surplus disposals activities
  • Participate in solving systems related operational issues, and improve current systems performance
