Assignment description:

New Lifeboats Delivery Team is an organization established to perform studies and execute projects for change out of lifeboat systems at existing offshore installations. The projects are organized in a PRO Delivery Team to cater for synergies and experience transfer

The projects shall be completed within end 2015. The project portfolio has started up class B and C studies for an increasing number of installations. The sub-projects will continuously start study- and execution phases.

Role: Engineering Manager in the LNB portfolio

The engineering manager will have a staff function and is responsible for the technical functionality, interface coordination and change control system across the devices (platforms).

The engineering manager shall specifically:

* Establish the Scope of Work (SOW) and technical framework for the different studies along with relevant study leader
* Secure that the different studies / projects has relevant technical discipline resources for follow up of Contractors Engineering
*Establish an adequate meeting structure for all engineering activities, towards other discipline areas and interface parties within the Project Team, base organization and towards Contractor(s).
* Ensure that Company requirements and Authority requirements are understood by Contractor and implemented in the design.
* Proactively ensure engineering experience transfer from other similar projects and in the portfolio
* Contribute to secure that technical solutions are developed and aligned with best practice and technical leading advisors in the company. Participate in engineering experience transfer to the base organization and other projects by use of experience Transfer database (ExTra)
* Participate in baseline updates
* Contribute to handle scope changes, quality control and deviations / non-conformities if requested by Study manager(s)
* Give input to planning and progress reporting for the Project related to engineering activities
* Give input to the Quality System Audit and Examinations Program for the Project within engineering activities
* Give input to the Project Risk register based on evaluated risks within each engineering discipline, and follow up according to agreed action plans with each study leader
* Ensure proactive communication with Construction, Commissioning and Operations
* Ensure good user involvement from operations in the design development phase
* Ensure that all internal discipline personnel understand their role and responsibilities

Bergen, Sandsli. Other locations may be relevant when the different study contracts awards are decided.

Competence requirements:
Education: University or college education

Minimum 8 years’ experience from project development/execution, with at least 4 years in project/engineering management and leadership. Experience with follow-up of contractors

Personal qualities:
Good communication and relationship skills
Multi discipline knowledge and administrative experiences
High focus on HSE and compliance
Ability to manage a team in accordance with the our values
Structural, systematic, proactive and target driven
Ability to handle responsibility and periodically high workloads

Language requirements (if essential for the work):
Norwegian and English (written and oral)
